- Updated: 01 Aug 2011
-
Go to http://www.signagewidgets.com register and then download the Weather Widget once you have the zip file open it and follow the instructions in the text document. To add the weather widget firstly upload the weather folder and the .swf file to a folder on the NTB (it is best to use FTP so you can move both at once) select a zone and make sure you have enabled it for HTML (web content) then add the .swf file to the Playlist.
Note: you will need an internet connection for this widget to work.

- How can I turn automatically turn a screen off with an NTB?
- Updated: 12 Oct 2011
-
This is normally accomplished by setting your default Schedule Entry to "screen off".
The default Schedule Entry will play if there is nothing else scheduled to play.
Hence you will have to add an additional Schedule Entries to play your required layouts during your operational hrs.
Outside of these schedules the NTB will drop the synchronisation signals to the screen and it will go into standby.
To action this use the following Path: Home: Schedules - Default Schedule - How do I add multimedia files (images, video etc) to a Zone?
- Updated: 01 Aug 2011
-
Use Path: Playlists - -
Now drag and drop the media files from your desktop directly to the playlist.
Note: You will need to use a browser that fully supports HTML 5.0 such as Firefox and Chrome. If you don't have access to one of these browsers you will need to use the "Files and Folders" tab to upload the files.

- Should I be worried about NTB on our network, is it secure?
- Updated: 25 Aug 2011

Here are some Security facts about NTB.
- NTB is a Network Appliance first of all and should be treated like one, not a PC.
- The NTB runs on a Linux Fedora 13 operating system that has been heavily customised by us to meet our security needs and to remain stable under 24/7 operation.
- Since the vast majority of software viruses are designed to attack weaknesses in the Windows operating system, they cannot attack an NTB.
- In almost every case the user has no need to work with a NTB at the operating system level.
- We release free software updates about four times a year and users are encouraged to keep their NTB up-to-date. These updates may include new features, bug fixes and security updates for the operating system.
- ONELAN has a security policy document that is available under a non-disclosure agreement. The policy includes the results of NESSUS scans which prove that the NTB is a very secure device. This has already made the NTB acceptable to a number of Banks, Universities and the Military;
- What is the root (master) password for my NTB?

- What touch screens does the NTB support?
- Updated: 25 Aug 2011
-
Most screens supporting the industry standard HID (Human Interface Device) protocol will function with the NTB.
Rule of thumb: if the screen requires drivers to work under windows it is unlikely to function with the Linux based NTB.
Note: Touch integration requires purchase (and installation) of the Touch Licence on each NTB. This is an activation key that enables this feature.
Without the appropriate License you will not have any touch functionality.
